Does anyone know if you can change the start up sound when you turn the desire phone on? Ive had a look around the settings etc but cannot seem to find anything?

They have also made it quieter by default with the Froyo update.

Had silent boot on mine for about a month and works lovely :D

Set your phone to silent before you turn off the phone, so when you turn it back on it comes on with no noise. :) That's a manual non-app way to get around it. ^^
But like above, it isn't really an issue with Froyo 2.2 as it's much quieter now! :)

Can change the start up sound but that requires rooting your phone.

My original T-mobile Desire did not have a noisy boot up, only since Froyo update has it now started to annoy me on startup!
