Starting to slow down

Anyone else starting to see slow down on their Incredible? Not just a little but the loading circle showing up when opening apps or closing them. Sometimes it takes 5-10 seconds for them to just start.

I have also had the HTC logo show up when closing stuff (black screen and grey HTC logo) and then the circle. Just checking.

I've had the black screen/grey HTC logo pop up when closing up apps once or twice.

Still good here.

Considering the display at the Verizon store is still snappy and that thing's been getting about 12 hours of hardcore use per day for the past two and a half weeks, no problems.

It's more annoying than disconcerting but it makes me wonder if a task killer is warranted because apps are not always closing themselves and there is no other way (other than going through the list of running applications) for them to close.

i would say its just that more apps are running in the background than when you first got it. use system panel and see what all is running, and how much ram you are using.

No slowdowns or any serious lagging here. Then again I am coming from a Storm 2 which had repeated lagging and stuttering so I am pretty much being spoiled with the Incredible haha

Maybe restart it? I like to reboot mine before bed, that way it gets a nice good charge with out any apps running in the background. not sure its necessary but i guess its bb storm habit heh. I like to watch my custom boot animation as well hah.

No real issues here either, although I was on Engadget the other night, and the website status bar kept refreshing and refreshing? Not the site, just the status bar?

I restart mine every night. No slowness here. Over the years, I've always restarted my phones every night, even dumbphones. There are sometimes some leaky apps that can cause such slowdowns.

Yea mine has lag! No I don't have any 3rd party apps, yes I shut my phone off and restart it, yes I do battery pulls, yes I do *228, yes I'm a tech buff and have a slightly good idea how a device should work. Figured I'd cover all the questions from the people who feel like Jesus delivered there phone, and that act like u cursed there mother out when u say your incredible has an issue or 2....

57 Apps installed on my Incredible (all quality apps, no fart apps, no shaking soda-cans etc..), with a boatload of resources to spare (memory, phone storage, and cpu usage). Just for giggles, I stress tested my Incredible by using a live wallpaper, made sure every app possible was loaded into memory and running, any app that had to poll for data was polling as often as possible, widgets set to refresh as often as possible, had friends flood me with sms/mms/IM's/email, and still my Incredible operated well. I did manage to push it to the point that there was some noticeable lag, but it was a lot of work to get it to that point, and I'd already surpassed the threshold of other device's capabilities by leaps and bounds.

Praise Jesus!

mine does it once in a while but i think it's either MSN Droid or the Dolphin HD browser.. the two programs i use the most..

edit... just cleared chat history in msn droid and the dolphin hd cache.. seems to have taken care of the problem..

Hmmm. I would hate to see my phone slow down like my old computers did, back when I had fourty programs loading at startup.

I thought Android couldn't slow down... is it usually just a bad program that's guilty? Will 2.2 slow the machine?
