So everything was fine until maybe a week ago? I noticed, my Status bar icons (or system icons) on the very top left and top right of the screen were turning dark when I was at the home screen (background wallpaper).

On top right for example, it shows the Wi-Fi and Battery Icons and clock. They are properly white or black when an app is open (corresponding to the background brightness/darkness of the app), but the icons always go black on the home screen, even if it's dark behind them and I can't see them (bottom picture).

This was not happening a few weeks ago. I just factory-reset my tablet. then updated the apps, and it's still happening. Not the end of the world, but these little pet peeve things are annoying lol.

Tablet is Acer B3-A40FHD running Android 7.0 Kernel Version 4.4.22

I think that the problem here is that the background is half light, half dark, so neither light nor dark icons works.

Does your device or launcher allow you to turn this off, or turn off the transparent notification bar? I use Nova launcher which has this option (and a black notification bar hides the stupid punch hole camera, which is a bonus).

Hi, thanks for the response.

It MAGICALLY fixed itself! Overnight, this issue went away. I knew it wasn't an issue with the wallpaper image being half light and half dark, because I had the same home screen wallpaper image for over a year, when things were working fine.

lol, maybe the update to Daylight Savings Time adjusted things properly, who knows.

Stupid technology! ha!

anyway thanks for the response
