Not by wiping Davlik-cache. That stuff is stored in user data I believe and not touched by doing this wipe.

Ok, just wiped it, then installed the gapps zip....then restarted it. Now it white screen when you first boot up that says "htc EVO 4G"...and it's been like that for about a minute now.....

so worried.

Should I pull the battery out now and try to restart it?

give it a couple minutes, if it stays there, pull the battery and reboot the phone.

Should I try to change my clockworkmod version?

If you haven't yet, I would change it to 2.6.0.1 following the instructions I posted a couple back.

Where do I get that .zip then?

I thought I could change back through the recovery page.

1) Download the appropriate PC36IMG.zip for whichever recovery image you want.
2) Rename the file to PC36IMG.zip, exactly, being careful to not rename it to PC36IMG.zip.zip or accidentally unzip the file.
3) Copy the file to the root of your sdcard (That mean the top level, not in any folders).
4) Boot into hboot by turning the phone off, then turning it back on while pressing and holding the volume down button.
5) Flash the file when prompted.
6) When done, rename or remove the PC36IMG.zip file, or it will prompt you to flash it again every time you boot back into hboot.

If you follow the link at Free File Hosting, it will take you to the PC36IMG file you will need. Following the directions and you should have 2.6.0.1 recovery when you are finished.

Ok, so I just went put clockworkMod 2.6.0.1 on my phone, and I went to clear the Dalvik Cache, cleared it then this came up:

E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
(File Exists)
Dalvik Cache Wiped.

I still went to install the gapps.zip and now its rebooting.

Does that message mean anything?

Dang. Gapps still won't work.

I think that has to do with having sd-ext partitioned on your sd card. If you don't have it, you might get that error.

Edit: Not sure then. Might have to try it with a complete fresh wipe and install. I haven't heard of any issues with it. Might be something in the rom was corrupted and causing issues.

How can I reflash it and still import all of my data back in?

You can use Titanium backup to save your apps and user data. Just be careful what you restore when you do as some system data can cause problems.

can you get to the market at all? If not, I am not sure how you can get the apk for it. might google it and see if you can find the apk and transfer it to your phone. It is normally downloaded from the market.

Nope. Can't get to the market at all. I'll just do a fresh install of CM7 RC2 I guess

Bummer! I would write down all of the apps that you want to restore then so at least you have a list of the ones you want.
