***IF THIS HELPS YOU HIT THE THANKS BUTTON!! ITS LITERALLY ONE CLICK!***

Rooting the Fusion 2 Step by Step, by Shagerty

Step 1 : Download this file here.

Step 2 :Put the Huawei Fusion 2 Recovery Root.zip on your desktop.

Step 3 :Download and install the Huawei Fusion Drivers. Install By running the .exe here.

Step 4 :Make a folder called "Huawei Fusion 2" on your desktop.

Step 5 :Extract Zip from step 2 into your fusion 2 folder.

Step 6 :Turn off phone.

Step 7 :Reboot fastboot by holding Volume Down and Power buttons simultaneously for 10-20 seconds.
(It will freeze at ATT logo. This is fastboot, it's a freeze to be happy about)

Step 8 :Connect phone to computer.

Step 9 :Open the folder you made and open the extracted zip (if you haven't extracted do this now)

Step 10 : Double click "Run Me"

Step 11 :Type "fastboot devices" and hit enter this will confirm if you are connected via fastboot (you are) if your connected it will list some numbers and letters and the words fastboot next to the numbers and letters.

Step 12 :Now flash modified recovery by typing "fastboot flash recovery recovery.superrecovery.img" into the "run me" window and hitting enter.

Step 13 :Unplug after the process runs says finished. And gives you the total time.

Step 14 :Remove back of phone and take out battery for 10-15 seconds.

Step 15 :Reinsert battery hold volume up and power button simultaneously until it boots into recovery (15-20 seconds of holding both buttons)

Step 16 :Reboot Device by selecting the "reboot device" option with the volume buttons (it should already start with reboot highlighted) so just press the power button to reboot.

Step 17 :Grab a beer and relax as your device reboots with SuperSU (main root app)!

Enjoy and thanks to robotic buddy for initial guide and download links, also special thanks to RFE for the 1st Root method on the Huawei Fusion 2!

*********IF IT SAYS WAITING FOR DEVICE, IT IS ONE OF FOUR THINGS;

1) YOU DID NOT PUT THE PHONE INTO FASTBOOT CORRECTLY GO AHEAD AND REPEAT STEP 7 THEN RETRY,

2) YOU SIMPLY NEED TO UNPLUG AND REPLUG PHONE AND WAIT APPROXIMATELY 25-30 SECONDS (SHOULD HAPPEN IMMEDIATELY UNLESS DRIVERS WHERE INSTALLED INCORRECTLY),

3) INCORRECTLY INSTALLED ADB DRIVERS, REINSTALL THE ADB DRIVERS FROM STEP 3,

4) YOU DID NOT NAME THE FOLDERS CORRECTLY, OR DIRECTED THE CMD TERMINAL TO THE WRONG FOLDER, MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW EVERY STEP TO A T INCLUDING CAPITALIZATIONS, SYMBOLS, AND SPACES OF FOLDERS AND CMD PROMPTS*********
can somebody plz help me on mines when i do step 11 it says '''fastboot is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Anyone else have success rooting? Post in the root results thread!
I've been trying to root my Consumer Cellular AT&T Huawei U8652 w/Gingerbread 2.3.6 for awhile now with NO success, but stumbled across this thread during my searching today and will try this assuming it'll work with my particular phone? I'm curious though, when you refer to going into fastboot mode, i.e. holding down Vol(-) & power buttons simultaneously, all I get is the "Phone Options screen" (Silent mode, Airplane mode and Power Off), am I doing something incorrectly here?

Any help here will be so gratefully appreciated!

Also, I've noticed many of these seemingly helpful threads appear to be dead, sad really.

I'm not sure it will work with your phone, but to get into fastboot, your phone must be powered off. Then Hold that button combination. You should get stuck at the att logo.
Thanks for the reply ZeRoseDev, very much appreciated but I really must ask why shouldn't or wouldn't it work, is it somehow something that perhaps Consumer Cellular has had done for them which would disallow this? For curiosity sake, I just want to get in this thing to play around and see what I can do before I move on to a new phone.

Ok I retried it all and the fastboot seems to work and hangs at "Consumer Cellular" presumably where AT&T would be normally so that seems ok but now I created a folder on my desktop called "Huawei Fusion 2" and under that is "Huawei-Fusion-2-Recovery-Root" from the zip file, so when I go to click "Run Me" and type in fastboot devices I get this:

Desktop\Huawei Fusion 2\Huawei-Fusion-2-Recovery-Root\fastboot devices
? fastboot
Desktop\Huawei Fusion 2\Huawei-Fusion-2-Recovery-Root\

are the letters and numbers supposed to be my serial number by chance? If so I already have that from another operation.

anyhow I continued on with the steps but step#16 never brings up the reboot screen but just stays(hung) at "Consumer cellular" screen.

It is my understanding that the U8652 is the Fusion, and this method is for the U8665, the Fusion 2.

The question, Will this work for the first fusion, has been asked before, and the reply given was that it will not.

I found this, may be what you're looking for:

Good luck.
Hi yes I've seen that thread but superoneclick2.3.3 doesn't seem to work for me, it always hangs (stops responding) at step#7, really could use some help with this as frankly the U8665 phone is nearly identical and I just don't see the issue why I can't get this phone to root.

links for the recovery are dead. can anyone post a new link?

i know this is old. thanks to anyone who can help :)
I doubt that you will find anybody who still have the file necessary to root your phone. you will find this more and more with older devices. developers only support the file sharing sites for so long as some of those sites require money to be able to share for x amount of time.
