Stick with Note 4 or upgrade to 5?

I've also heard many Note 4 owners saying they don't want to upgrade to a Note 5. If you like the Note series it might be worth waiting to see what their Note 6 has to offer, assuming a yearly release schedule it would be released around August.
However first I'd go into a store and test out a Note 5 to see if you like it yourself.

The Note 5 is often criticised by Note 4 owners for having a non-removable battery and no SD slot. So if these things are important to you then you might be better off sticking with the Note 4.
If the rumours are correct it's likely that the SD slot will be back in the Note 6 - the Galaxy S7 will give us a good clue, because if SD is back in the Galaxy S series it would be reasonable to expect it back in the Notes. I wouldn't bet on the removable battery being back this year though.
