Root Still can't uninstall?

So I am running a customer Jager ROM and it is great, however I am unable to uninstall some included programs from the ROM? Is this normal? Since being rooted, I thought there was a way to uninstall any program from the phone? For example K-9 mail and mobile defense are built into the ROM. When I try to uninstall them, the option to uninstall them is grayed out? Any way at all to uninstall these programs directly from the phone itself? Any root apps that can make this happen?

use root explorer and add ".bak" to the end of the unwanted apk. it won't uninstall it but you won't see it any more.

Thanks for the tip. No way to remove unwanted programs? I always thought that was possible with root.

well...i guess you can just long press and delete it but if your not in need of space i just .bak them just in case i want them back.
