I installed the OTA update 2.2 when it was delivered to my unrooted phone. I want to go back to 2.1, but when I go to settings>SD & phone storage>Factory data reset it gives the warning that it will NOT erase: Current system software and bundled applications. Does this mean that the update 2.2 will still be on the phone, or does it goes back to 2.1?
    Thanks.

Yes, you will still be at 2.2 why do you want to revert to 2.1?

My incoming messages on my POP3 email account get deleted once I open them to read.
I downloaded K-9 email Sunday and today all my incoming emails disappear on that also.

    Email on 2.1 worked perfectly.

I thought there was a way to revert back to 2.1.

Factory Reset does not roll back to the original 2.1-1 os. There is a guide for doing the roll-back that you can google. here's the RUU 2.1 that you'll likely need: [Recovery] Stock 2.1 Recovery Image for DI - xda-developers You may have to create a login to download it if you aren't an xda member.

then its a setting issue somewhere that you need to change, rolling back to 2.1 over this issue is stupid

There is this magical thing called settings, I suggest using them.

I have the same problem and even contacted HTC about it. They set the new HTC Mail up this way. They may possibly change it back if they get enough complaints on it.

On K-9 Mail under Menu > More > Settings > Account Settings go down to the Sync remote deletions. Make sure that is unchecked and it will keep the email on your phone.
