I received an invitation to get the TB at 50 off and a new 2yr contract. I think I will turn it down, seeing as the TB does not look like a MAJOR upgrade to me and I'm still loving the Dinc. :D

Verizon sent me a text similar to that a few weeks back, I'm sticking with the Incredible for now. No phones on the horizon interest me either.

I was always chasing the next hottest thing. Cannot believe I've had this phone for over a year and still amazed.

Heard from a friend who got the TB how much battery life sucks. I would possibly consider the dinc 2.

In your opinion, do you think the Dinc2 is a real upgrade for the Dinc.

I think so. Bigger screen, more memory and processing power. And most importantly, better battery life. I like the fact that it's not too big.

You guys are right. It really isn't that big of an upgrade. The Incredible was the first WoW phone that came from Verizon. (Droid wasn't bad either, but that was a year and a half ago.)

I bought two, one for my wife and one for my daughter this within the past 6 months and they love it. They are on stock, no root, but I tell you. It's a fine phone. I'd wait for something significantly better. :)

I got the TB tonight.. My phone was slowing crapping the bed-- 3 hour battery life, constant random reboots, reboot loops, random disk full warnings that prevented anything from syncing and then would disappear, apps on SD card disassociating, apps FCing all the time.. Even reset to factory defaults and that didn't fix the problem.

Talked the VZ guy into $150 for a TB (justified on $50 early upgrade that it seems all Inc owners got + $50 may special). Also, beware the new every 2 discount has dropped to $50 (soon it will be $0) and BW caps are forth coming. If you get a TB now, apparently you don't have to deal with them as soon. Add in the fact that I can save the $50 upgrade discount for my wife in a few months and then sell my Inc + accessories for more than what I bought the TB for, I'm happy :)

The new market.android.com site makes it super easy to click-click-click-click all your apps over to your new phone. The TB feels 100x better than the Inc-- both tactile- and interface-wise. The new sense is fantastic. Granted, I might have acted rashly, but my urge to get the Transformer tablet has subsided for now, since this has a much larger screen than the Inc.

I think cellphones are finally starting to get where computers have been for a for years now. There are not gonna be any huge leaps and bounds anymore, just some tweaks to to refine the existing technology. The big leaps and bounds will be in the carriers' networks.

Forward facing cameras are cool. But in 2 years you won't be able to find a smartphone without one, so that won't be a deciding factor for anyone when shopping around. Dual-core processing will probably be the same way.

That is just my little speculation.

I did try a Thunderbolt for a couple of weeks not long after they came out.
It was much faster than my Inc, but only because I had a good 4GLTE signal.
But the battery life wasn't good, and it was a little too big for me.
I really hope going forward HTC keeps making new models with the same form factor as the Incredible.

Ive had my Incredible since December and really enjoy it as well. Got it off Craigslist so I still have my upgrade on my account for a new phone. Thinking about the Galaxy S2 when it hopefully comes out this summer.

I would still take it over just about every phone currently out on Verizon right except maybe the Incredible 2, which I think was a little dissapointing. My biggest reason for an upgrade right now would be for 4G and a larger screen.

I would like 4g also, but would like to have better battery management first.

Seems like battery tech is not keeping pase with mobile phone tech.

    No kidding.
Our smartphones are fast enough. Take some of those resources that they are currently using to make out phones faster, and put it into battery research. I want to see a completely new battery technology. Batteries made from some new metal no one has ever tried before, that you can charge 10 minutes and it will last for days.

If you like your Incredible, but want 4G and a larger screen, then I would say the Thunderbolt is exactly what you need. And the battery life is no worse than the Incredible.

Nothing is interesting to me like the Incredible was a year ago....except for the Sensation. I really like that phone, too bad it's on T-Mobile.

I agree, I got the inc2 because this could be the last 3g phone I actually like.. I don't need or want 4g, would love for the 4g price to increase and lower 3g price, but im afraid that for 4g phones you will have to get the 4g service like with the 3g phones in the past and with the 4g phones now.. but the price is the same for the two so no matter there now. but eventually I hope the standard isnt 4.3' screens otherwise ill be using the inc2 then back to feature phones.. it hurts me the even say it. a phone without internet, gps, I would be lost

Agreed! Rooted my Dinc a couple days ago and put CyanogenMod7 on it. Everything went pretty smooth.

I would be very tempted to take it, just to lock in a unlimited data plan for 2 years...

there have been nasty rumors about Verizon going to a tiered data plan...

I went from my BB to the DInc last year on my b-day when it first came out. Was sooo excited! Phone blew away my BB and all the things you can do with a smartphone.

Over the last year I've loved my DInc and never really saw any reason to ugrade. But the last 3 weeks or so that little annoying 'Low space' notification came on every day and I would have to clear the cache on literally every app and even un-installed some rarely used apps. Did the trick for about 2 weeks, but the last week, I couldn't get the notification icon gone, even after clearing the cache trick. I literally un-installed everything but Handscent, K-9 and Opera Mini. I can't live without those 3 apps! Icon was still there and therefore couldn't get my Gmail push (no biggie, just moved to K-9), but also couldn't download/update any apps in the Market.

So, I went to the local VZW store where I got it from last year and know the guy who sold it to me and tried everything he could, but said only thing left is hard reset. I was soooo tempted to say F it and just upgrade to the Thunderbolt for a $150 "valued customer" offer, but said no. My coworker has one and loves it, but the battery life as we all know is downright pathetic. And living in a 4G Atlanta region, sure the speeds will be awesome, but the phone will have to be constantly charging...

I did the hard reset last night and all day today it's been like a brand new phone all over again. LOL.. No 'Low Space' notification, battery "seems" a little better and everything running nice and smooth. Took maybe 45mins last night to re-install/download ALL my old apps again, so was no sweat.

I too love to be on the top of my phones, but I just don't see anything out there yet to warrant it. Maybe the Samsung G2 might be the one. But who knows when it will ever be on VZW.

I'm going to keep my DInc as long as I can until something that good comes out for me to change. :) Love live the DInc! hehe...
