General Still on 2.1v3, are there any new updates or roots?

    Just what the title says, been on 2.1v3 for a couple months now...curious if there is anything i can update/upgrade to yet.

    You can flash the RUU of the OTA version of 2.1, if you like, but its exactly the same as leak 3.
    Rooting the 1.49 bootloader is not impossible, but very very hard to do. If you want to try the rooting method and need help feel free to join the irc chat at chat.andirc.net and join #leakroot someone should be able to help you through the process if the tutorial is not clear enough.

    is it possible to brick the phone using the xda-developers method?

    Is it POSSIBLE to brick the phone - sure, any time you're messing around at the lower levels of a device that's a possibility, however it's very unlikely. I have yet to see a report where anyone bricked their phone.
