Been using the phone for a couple months, using the stock android "email" application to fetch my personal (non-Google) email. It seems that when the email comes in, the email notification appears in the notification bar (sometimes) for a few seconds, and then disappears.

Is there any way to keep the Email notification in the bar until I check email or clear it manually?

does this happen all the time or when you have the email app open?

if it happens only when you have the app open then this is normal behavior

This happens to me, too. I'll hear the email notification sound, check my phone, notice the icon in the status bar, and it disappears maybe a second after. When I receive Gmail, the icon will stay in the status bar until I check my mail.

It happens regardless of the Email app state, the notification just disappears, and unless you heard the initial ding for incoming email, you get surprised the next time you check manually and new email is there. It's some kind of bug in the stock Email app. I'm considering moving to K9.

As OmensEdge mentioned, ironically the gmail notification works perfectly.

I just started using K-9. It works great, I just quit using the stock app altogether.
