I downloaded and flashed the stock rooted 2.2.2 nandroid on to my phone, and it seems to reboot at least once per day. Aside from that, it works fine. Has this happened for anyone else using this nandroid?

I have been noticing this on Velocity 1.1

For some odd reason, it only happens when my phone is placed on a metal surface. Is this how it is for you?

I switched from Velocity 1.1 because Pandora wasn't working with it.

It reboots at random times; once it turned off entirely and wouldn't come back on. I had to pull the battery.

It still didn't work well, even with an older version installed.

I'm hoping I don't have to reflash this nandroid. I wonder if WeatherBug is the culrpit?

If your talking about the 2.2.2 Nandroid I made I don't know why your phone would be rebooting that much but you can get into amon ra recovery by powering off then pressing the send+end+menu keys at the same time.
    I'd try Velocity 1.1 http://androidforums.com/velocity/3...ly-android-2-2-1-froyo-super-fast-stable.html
and see if that solves your rebooting issue.

Odd, I use that Pandora for over an hour almost every day. It's even a commercial free .apk.

First off, great job with the nandroid. Many many thanks!

I'm guessing the issue stems from WeatherBug, as it's constantly updating in the background and might cause a memory-overload if I'm trying to do too many things at once. My Ally actually went three days without rebooting, before I had to manually do it myself. I'll keep monitoring it; I feel like I had this issue even before I first rooted my phone, and that was when I actively used WB, so again I'm going to pin my blame on that for the time being.

As for the issue with Pandora running on Velocity 1.1 - I had downloaded the v1.4 apk, and it would start up just fine. However, if I happened to turn the screen off while it was running, the music would get horribly choppy, to the point where it would be unlistenable... and this was if it didn't force close. Right now, the only reason I would switch back to Velocity is for the massive internal storage increase - I find the stock nandroid suits my needs at the moment. Plus, I'm reading scary things about a lot of apps suddenly not working with Velocity.

Wow i don't understand why you are skeptical at all to use velocity. The team has made such a great ROM and i have it on my ally. It's absolutely amazing. Without this ROM I don't know if I would be able to use this phone. It makes the phone 100x better. I cant think team Velocity enough for all their hard work and dedication. And to your saying that apps don't work on Velocity. You probably had a bad flash or did something wrong. And if something is wrong there are support pages for Velocity.

Well sir, I HAVE used Velocity, and it didn't strike my fancy. I never had a bad flash of it, and I certainly didn't do anything incorrect whilst installing it; the one app I bought an Android phone for - Pandora - was malfunctioning with Velocity, and I just decided to revert back to stock. I apologize if my preference of stock over Velocity offended you, as it apparently has.
