My first Nokia smartphone had it, my palm PDA's and Palm smartphones all had it (2004), my Blackberry's had it and the iPhone had it .... a very simple app with one simple function. STOIC (STay On In Cradle) v1.0a freeware for Palm treo phone and pda, PalmOS free downloads. Plug in power (usb, cradle, whatever and the SCREEN would stay on. No intervention, no fancy other options ... just STOIC. I've tried all kinds of apps from the simplest Widget to the $9.99 locale program. They all work one way or another but they either come with excess unneeded baggage (Locale) to the need for manual intervention - you could easily forget to turn it off. Anyone want to write STOIC for Android? Simple, plug it in and the screen stays on app. You can do a similar thing with the native Android system but that function (which is what I am using now) causes the screen to dim.
