Help Stop calendar from syncing Facebook birthdays??

I have searched this topic and none of what I've found has helped me. My phone just updated to Jelly Bean 4.3 last night and I, of course, have a Galaxy S3.... now when I got to my calendar I have hundreds of birthdays on my calendar!! Most of the people I rarely even talk to on Facebook, they're just old HS friends. Anyways, what do I have to do in order to stop FB from posting b-days and junk to my calendar? I want only important events and b-days I put on my calendar to be there.... so what do I have to do?

On your Galaxy S3 calendar. Select calendars.
Then make sure that Facebook is UNCHECKED
Click done

This should solve the problem

I have quite the opposite problem. My GS3 used to sync FB calendar fine, now that I've upgraded to 4.3, after performing a factory reset and having everything reinstalled, I don't get the option to sync FB calendar any more.

Clues?

I had already done that. After your suggestion I repeated the process paying a little more attention (thanks), and just couldn't believe how complicated it got.

For some reason FB isn't using the FB app session and the "Facebook" Android account entry to create the calendar and gallery sync options any more.

Instead, it notifies me to log onto FB through the browser (?!) and then creates a "Sync apps with Facebook" Android account entry with those options.

Now it works, but couldn't they complicate it any further? :-P
