Root stop OTA notifications?

    mmkay,so my friend has been rooted on her stock ROM for quite some time now. with this last OTA update,her phone constantly bothers her to install,wich of course she cant...

    she says its not only sucking her battery down,but really annoying ;)

    im new to the incredible,so im not sure what to tell her. i just picked mine up last night and rooted it this morning,so my software is up to date.

    is there something she can do? or does she just need to unroot,let the OTA install,then reroot?

    will changing the ROM eliminate this issue?

    I've got a nooby question.
    If i upload/flash/etc. that rom to my phone, will i then be able to flash any different rom after that and not get the OTA notifications still?
    Or am I only allowed to flash new roms?
    Because I like the rom i'm using now. So i kinda wanted to flash the above listed rom and then flash back to the other rom.

    If you flash any rom that doesn't have the update, or have updates disabled, you will be nagged by the notification. Every current rom meets those criteria, so i'd reccommend upgrading your current rom to it's newest version, it most likely won't require a wipe. What rom are you using now?

    Oh darn! Well I went to look for a newer version of my rom and it's not available. So i just went ahead and put in a virtuous rom. Eh i'll live.

    I downloaded ROM Manager and then used the Clockwork recovery and it went away. That stopped about 4-5 days ago. I hated that alert myself. I have not flashed any new ROM yet though.
