Just wondering if there is a way to stop the screen turning on whenever the phone is plugged in or out?

The cigarette lighter in my car is a well dodgy (technical term) and the power keeps kicking in and out. What this means is that when I have the phone plugged in, the screen is constantly turning itself on which ends up burning more power than the dodgy connection provides.

I really don't need the screen to turn on when the power state changes. Ever. I'm quite capable of pressing the power button. Is there a way to stop the phone doing this?

Not to be a smart ass, but fixing your cigarette lighter would be a good start. Myself, if my lighter did that, I wouldn't use it to charge my phone.

True enough. The thing is, getting the cigarette lighter fixed on the car will almost certainly cost $100s and involve major inconvenience getting the car to and from a dealer while turning something off on the phone would cost $0 and be a no inconvenience at all ;)
