Ive searched but cant seem to find an answer

I want to use my 8gb micro card, twice the storage
But will removing teh default card, mess things up?
Just noriced specific files etc when connected to the computer, and dont want to mess all the settings up

I,e there is a file for photos , mp3, etc. If i put in my new memory card these folders wont be there? ? ?

Is it as simple as plugging in the new one and thats it?

    Thanks

hi, when you put your new card in, it will add these folders when you format it using the phone, then you can just put your music and photos onto it

or you can copy the contents form the 4GB, into the 8GB, exactly, so you still keep all your app data etc....

the reason the phone backs up onto the memory card is if you ever need to restore to factory settings, or do a software update, as these things erase the phones memory, but leave the memory card untouched

If you want to backup the memory card, either just copt and paste all the files on your memory card onto your folder - thats if you want to keep your saved apps etc...

Contacts and calender events are backed up to your gmail account automatically
or use Wavesecure https://www.wavesecure.com/ allows gps tracking of your device, and you can backup contacts and texts onto their servers, and restore them at any time

or you can even get one of the backup apps from the market like Mybackuppro or titatnium pack up (cant remmber the nameS) im not sure exactly what they backup, but again these just create a file on the Memory card....that can then be copy and pasted into your computer when you plug in the usb cable and choose ( cant remmber what the optino is.. i think its mount sd card)

Yes would be good if you could backup to PC using HTC Synch like I used with Nokia PC suite.
Apart from that I am loving the move from Nokia to HTC and Android

There are apps that backup different things over the net.

It depends on what you want to backup though.

On a similar note, I think I need to format my SD card (16gb one, taken from my old WM phone with songs on etc). I just put the card in when I got the phone and now certain apps are having trouble writing to the SD card. Should I connect to my pc, back up the songs and pics etc. then format the card and put the songs back on?

Thanks in advance for any help
