My wifi on my GS2 has been pretty much flawless since I bought it in July.
I have my home router and works router configured in, and when i get into work, it works seamlessly, and likewise when i arrive back home, reconnecting and working as expected.

However, this week I've been getting problems with this.
When I arrive to the "other" location (eg. into work from home, or vice versa) then the wifi automatically gets picked up normally to which ever router, but I cannot connect to the internet even though it all looks to all intents and purposes to be connected normally in the settings.

It only connects to the internet if I reboot the device.

This was never occurring for the first 6 weeks or so, but has only started happening this week. First time it happened I just thought it was one of those things, but now its a regular occurrence.

I've even tried deleting and re-scanning for the routers, but that didnt work. It HAS to have a reboot to connect to the net after a router change.

Once connected it will be fine all day until I go home, then I have to reboot again.

Any ideas what has gone wrong?

    Hi hawker!

Sorry to hear of your problem mate.

    Just some quick questions.

Did this problem occur after you installed your custom ROM?

    What is your custom ROM?

If I remember correctly, you're not rooted are you?

I've not installed a custom ROM (Yet)
    I'm still unrooted on KH3.
It worked for a while on KH3, so its not since I put that on.
Strange. Just started doing this these last few days, and only when it switches over to a different router.

Love the, "Yet". You're on the cusp though. :)

The fact that it happens both at work and home (and everywhere else it seems), discounts it as being a purely work related thing.

You seem to have already carried out most of the steps that I would have suggested.

The fact that you can connect to the routers with no problem would seem to indicate that the fault does not lie with your handset's hardware.

I'm wondering about the Orange element in all of this. If it were me, just for elimination purposes, I would beg, buy, borrow or steal, (1.3 or 4 would be good) another operators sim card and see if the same thing happens. If it does, then at least it narrows the field down.

    Cheers butty.
Strange how the problem has only now cropped up after 6 faultless seamless weeks.
home allocates me IP address of 192.168.1.103 and work allocates .100
I dont think its an IP clash. I've not tried removing the works router yet (even tho I removed my home router last night and it happened when I got into work this morning)
I'll give that a go now anyway and see what happens when I get home. Probably do some more tinkering!

Edit: Just re-instated the works router and its also allocated .103 as my IP, which is the same as my home-allocated address. Coincidence I know, but curious as to whether an IP address change is causing an issue (but I very much doubt it). See what happens tonight anyway....

    Thanks again for the suggestions
