Hi everyone. This is my ::cough:: SECOND ::cough:: stratosphere. It is significantly less than a year old. I have the verizon Asurion phone insurance so after paying a whopping $150 (deductible + shipping) to get a new one after a month, since the touch screen was detaching, this new one is continuously shutting off without even powering down.

Generally I don't see it happen. I juts lock the screen and when I go to unlock it, the phone is off. Once I saw it happen when I was sliding the keyboard back in. It's happening more and more. At least twice a day. And when you have only a cell phone, and a baby at home... this is unacceptable! Any idea what could cause the phone to do this? A loose battery maybe? I can't stand the idea of having to pay another $150 for a new one. Any chance Samsung would replace the phone? I just don't know what my options are.

All phones come with a 1 year WARRANTY (not insurance), a defective unit with no obvious damage should be replaced at no charge to you in that period. You had to pay the $150 deductible previously (odd, mine is $99, like all Asurion Smart Phone plans) because there was damage to the phone with the touch screen detaching. I would contact Verizon tech support and tell them the problem, they will likely walk you through a factory reset and assuming that doesn't fix the issue they should send you out a replacement at no cost to you.

BTW, you should have checked here, or over at RootzWiki (the best site for the Stratosphere) on the detaching glass issue, there was some pretty decent permanent fixes that only cost a couple dollars, but kinda late now I guess.
