I'm assuming there's no way to stream media from my computer using wifi or 3g?
MyCast your digital media with Orb 2.0 remote pc access software
You can receive it in most standard smartphone browsers. Haven't tried, yet, though on my Droid browser.
Thanks for the reply. It apparently doesn't require an app to be downloaded (to your mobile), just to your computer. I'm guessing you'll have to leave the app running. Wondering if it's a CPU hog or not?
I can't imagine google hasn't come up with this yet??
sidenote: You can download the Orb Live Event app from the Android Market but it looks like this app is just for viewing live events.
It's not really.
I've used it quite often because you can also stream to web browsers (so I can watch my movie drive stuff @ work). I've never had a complaint from my wife, using the computer at the same time.
Orb, in general, i'm very familiar with and recommend it. You can stream to mobile browsers, web browsers, etc, via your orb.com account.
I downloaded the app from their website and am streaming audio from my computer to my Droid via wifi. SWEEET!! Thanks again.
No problem. I love the app, and was hoping it would work on my Droid.
I use it all the time to stream movies to my work PC (when I'm done w/ Hulu, etc) and hadn't had a chance to test it yet w/ the Droid.
DO you have to be on wifi for it to work right? I downloaded, and you can only see a countdown for live events and like 3 movie trailers.
I think you downloaded the Live Events app on your Droid, which is something entirely different.
That's what I tried.
Are you using your browser and your special URL?
You have to download the orb app from orb.com and run on your computer. Then you go to their website on your Droid and access it all.
BTW, I'm trying to get the webcam to work. SWEEEET.
So you should just be able to download this program from your computer, open it up on your phone browser and away you go??? Or do I need to download something to my phone?
As long as Orb is running on your computer, you can visit Orb on your Droid and log in to display your media. From their you can launch the videos, audio, etc.
sidenote: It would be nice if they had a mobile site (ie:/m/) because it's hard to navigate their site from the Droid (you have to zoom in pretty far to click the right links).
TunesReflex is a android app where live streaming of desktop itunes music is done in android.
Download from TunesReflex-iTunes Music in Android | Play Desktop iTunes in Android on Move | Search iTunes Songs from Mobile Phones
Thank you SO much for this, set this up just now and the quality is actually pretty damn good for free!!
