Hi all - the latest crop of Android based Smart TV players are able to play ISO files from SAMBA network shares. I have been looking for something like this for a while to run on my phone or my tablet. It seems to run on a box with only 512K ram and 800mhz processor.

I have a copy of the firmware archive for one of these boxes and the appropriate apps appear to be something call amlogic net file browser (for SAMBA access) and farcore video player for playing the videos.

I can install and run the video player on my phone, it starts in a file browser mode and appears to recognise a whole bunch of container types (including iso) as video files. Attempting to play any file causes it to crash however.

Possibly this is using some hardware to decode and play video? If not then it would be a handy app to install.

Does anyone have the skills and time to investigate this app and see if they can get it running? I can provide a URL pointing to the firmware image.
