Stupid App Question

Got a new phone and want to sync my google account but I don't want all the Apps I had on old phone to come to new phone
so my question- will this happen automatically once I associate my account on the new phone? I do want my contacts and calendar but thats it

If your contact and calendar are under your Google account, they should sync up with your Android phone seamlessly.
