Was wondering if anyone has had any success with keeping their unlimited data plan when getting the atrix. I know people have had success upgrading to other phones but have not yet heard anyone specifically have success with the atrix.

If you have, please post details. i.e. what plan the CSR now put you on, plan/feature codes, fees, etc.

I'm disparately trying to make the switch from an iPhone and this is the phone that really caught my attention. I just really would hate to buy the phone only to have to deal with at&t customer service for hours just to try and get my unlimited data back. If i could walk in there with some hard info to give to the CSR, i'm sure myself as well as others will have better luck keeping their unlimited data.

    Thanks in advance

I went to the AT&T store and had no problems retaining it, just be sure you mention it to the CSR and you should be fine. (bonus, I had 100 bux for upgrade advantage :) dunno if they can do that at the other stores) I also mentioned about the HSPA + account upgrade to make sure i was on the right one and wouldn't have to call back later. I think he had to make that change separately so def mention it.

I pre-ordered it online and it warned me that my "Data for iPhone" plan was incompatible with the Atrix. So when I chose my plan I chose the "Smart Phone Personal" plan. If you click the question mark beside it it tells you that you have to be on a "gold list" smartphone plan. That's the plan you want to choose.

I had no problem keeping my unlimited plan. Ordered phone from At&t online and just had to call and get it switched from and iphone unlimited plan to a smartphone unlimited plan.

I got mine at Best buy and the guy there told me that I wont be able to keep my unlimited data. So while he was activating the Atrix, I got on the phone wiht AT&T and was able to make them do it as soon as my transaction was over. Make sure you call AT&T if you are getting the Atrix from another store.

There was a thread on the xda site of a guy who said the rep told him he had to change plans. He then told the rep that's not gonna happen and asked to speak with a manager, the rep got the manager, manager said it would be ok to keep it. Rep then apologized and said she was told to take away the plan.

I am paraphrasing, but all in all, if they say you have to change plans, get the manager, and tell him that you are gonna stick with the plan and get the phone with it.

The funniest thing is that there was girl who work at the mobile department at BB and was not been able to keep her unlimited because a stupid AT&T CSR told her that she has to give it up if she is moving to a 4G plan, wtf ???
I told that she should not have listened but she acted she knew better..I am just a customer, you know lol

I kept mine, just make sure your unlimited plan has the provision for HSPA+, if not, you will be capped @ 3G speeds...
