    Hi, folks.

Didn't see much about this anywhere. My F3 is not quite two years old. Battery was fairly low last night, put it on to charge as usual, grabbed it on the way out the door this morning. Looked at it on the train and it was half discharged, so I was thinking maybe I didn't actually plug it in or something last night. So I plugged it in on a USB port at work, so slow charging of course, but this is glacial, nothing like this before. It only gets to about 45%, then when you unplug it it starts to drop, within a few minutes at 38%. I turned it off and cleaned the battery contacts, then left it off but charging for more than an hour with the same result.

Is this a known issue? Is it likely I have a failing battery, or is there something else afoot?

    Thanks for any useful input.

Thanks, RK. That was one of my thoughts, but it its just so sudden and dramatic.

In shopping around it seems no one makes this battery, at least legitimately. And all I'm seeing is used or NOS. I bought one of the latter, cheap enough as a test I suppose. ;)

Maybe it's just another sign I should do the Tim Taylor thing and get a new phone with...MORE POWER! :)

Amazon has LG replacement batteries for our phone. Rated at 2460 mAh and everything. I'm seeing one for $6 right now.

My battery is also close to failing. Whenever it gets down to ~14% it rapidly drops and the phone dies. What new phone are you considering? I was gonna go for the LG Stylo 2 from VM or Boost.

I saw those, but did you read all the negative reviews? I ordered a NOS from an ebay vendor for about that price with better reviews and great feedback.

I awoke this morning to find it fully charged, so something odd is going on. I did read a few posts about charging ports failing, hopefully that's not the case. I'm not into detail soldering.

Next phone? I'm not sure, but I might go to something more costly that I don't have to root to block all the crapware. I like the Nexus, but that's a little toooo costly. ;)

Have you tried rooting it? I've noticed there isn't much of a community for the phone.
