So i am just now starting to get bugged, i love my s3 but now my battery seems like its draining at an alarming rate.

Before it seemed ok, meaning it drained with the usage and that was expected. I could shut the screen off and if there was still battery, it wasnt draining fast at all.

Now, it seems that its just hellbent on draining fast. 2 times now that ive noticed, ive had the last sliver of green for my charge, but its not like it was sitting there for days...were talking basic usage and it kicked over to the final stage before it hits "yellow".

Well just a bit ago, took a nap for about an hour or so, woke up to the sound of it making the noise to be charged, it was red and close to shutting off.

That cant be right. So i dont know what to do. I have my screen at about 3/8s of the way over, so its not like im sitting at 3/4 or full brightness.

I know people might say the typical if its searching for 4g etc etc....but the problem is that it never drained this fast, so this is something new. All the typical responses i dont think will apply here as the phone was under control for the most part UP until about the JB update, which it seems like it has declined my battery life since.

    Any thoughts?

install gsam battery monitor and let it monitor ure battery from a full charge till almost dead and see what exactly is draining the battery and report back.

Have u noticed any app that seems to be draining it?
Gsam battery monitor is a bit better than the stock monitor for this
Better Battery Stats app is less simple but better

Ill try one of those batt monitors.

What bugs me is this...like ill try to explain it, but it seems theres just SO much going on internally with this phone. Its not as simple as going to "running apps" and turning things off. Because if you simply go to just apps and see the whole slew of things, and click on stuff it shows that they are on and running or being used or enabled and showing nonstop memory usage.

Like when i go to clear my cache, it shuts down like 40-50 processes. Its like what are these processes?

I love this phone, but theres just so many things running that i have a hard time not feeling that somewhere there is simply something running that is causing this thing to drain hard and fast.

I love this phone but i feel that im getting ever increasing frustration with it.

Rather than closing apps its more likely that one rogue app is doing the damage mate

Is it just called "media server" ?

I think my question is this, is there any type of list or anything that shows what things draw the most from batteries that can be shut off? Because there are things running though that im not sure if are critical.
