Super backup not restoring SMS on new phone

New Phone New ANdroid, superbackup have resotre files on the external card and on my Gmail. so far so good.. I want to restore SMS and a sign says:

RESTORE
SUper Backup must be set as the default SMS app to restore messages. After restoring change the default SMS app back to your previously selected app

Do not prompt again
OK

I press "OK"
A new sign comes up "samsung saying you cant use certain samsung app if you use Spuer backup as standard app etc"

Its a cathc 22.

I dont understand this and hope for help. also Im alittle desperate I need this to work. Relevant help much appreciated.

Does it give you the option to continue anyway? I wouldn't worry about the warning. It's just telling you that if you change the default SMS app to something other than the Samsung app that certain message integration won't work.

All you are doing is restoring the backup, and only the default SMS app can do that, which is why you need to temporarily set Super Backup as default.

For clarification, when you're referring to 'Super backup' that's this app from the Play Store developed by MobileIdea, yes?

If so, it's not a SMS/MMS texting app so re-check that initial popup message. It can't be used as your default texting app, it does not have that functionality. It's intended purpose is for backing up and restoring text messages.
