I miss having a real QWERTY keyboard. :(

    Not rooted.
    No dead/stuck pixels. Screen perfect
    Very good condition.
    8GB SD card

Straight swap needed with something comparable with the Nexus. A droid would be ideal.

I live in Swansea UK and would be willing to meet somewhere so we can both make sure we are happy with each others phones.

  2. I live in Perth, Scotland. I received a Motorola Milestone from my contract two weeks ago and it is mint condition! original box Great phone but I don't really use the keyboard. I'd be happy to do a swap? PM me back mate :)

I'm sending my N1 to iWannaBeAdored tomorrow and he in turn will send me his Milestone.

I shall update this thread with how it all goes.
  4. There really isn't a risk due to us both knowing where we live and the photo evidence of our agreement.

Looking forward to the N1. I am flashing the official 2.1 at the moment by the way!

Hope you like the Milestone when you receive it.

Milestone has arrived! Good, solid bit of kit. Can't wait for 2.1!

    Good transaction with iWannaBeAdored.

Hi Redmist. I'm currently looking at a nexus/desire or Milestone but can't decide. Can you tell me why you prefer the milestone?

    There are a few things.

With the nexus, it's very thin and light. Which initially sounds like an advantage. However, this means I held on to it more tightly and my fat fingers would wrap around the case a little giving false readings on the screen. There is also a well publicised problem where the multi-touch on the nexus sometimes gets confused - the touchscreen goes haywire and you have to turn it off and on again. I found this very annoying. But I believe Google are working on a fix for this.

Secondly, the speaker on the nexus is fairly quiet. The speaker on the Milestone is very loud! I listen to podcasts quite a lot and I also use GPS navigation in the car which require a loud speaker.

Thirdly, and probably the most important thing, the keyboard. I have tried for a few months getting used to the on screen keyboard. I think my fingers are just too big for the small screen. The hardware keyboard on the milestone is quite good and I can type accurately with it!

Don't get me wrong, the Nexus is a brilliant phone, but I think I was seduced by it's specs which are slightly higher than the Milestone. But specs are not everything and usability should have been higher up my wish list.

Thanks for that Redmist, I think I'm swaying toward the milestone, also mainly for the keyboard. How does the performance differ from the N1 with the less RAm and slower CPU?

    Thanks Again

I havn't really pushed it to it's limits. However, for 99% of programs I'm sure it wont make any difference at all. The Milestone is already faster than most handsets. I don't play games, so it wont affect me as much as it might you.

They are both brilliant handsets. The milestone is a bit bulkier. The black case seems to attract/show dust more than the nexus. But otherwise no complaints so far.
  18. The multi-touch is fine with MoDaCo's Desire ROM which is great :D The Milestone is an amazing phone, like the N1. As long as you have a Task Killer installed the N1 and Milestone will feel like they are running the same. The reason I wanted a N1 was I like to flash different ROMs and test them and I love Sense UI. it is easier for me to take around with me because it is a lot lighter and thinner than the Milestone. Me being a young guy, this is great.
