Up where the notification bar is, if you swipe your finger to the right really fast, it will increase brightness. If you swipe your finger to the left, it dims the screen.

you don't have to go fast. When the gray notification bar appears slide left across it for dim or right across it for bright.

Well just a heads up this feature only works if automatic brightness is turned off in Settings >> sound & display >>> brightness.

I desperately want this feature for my Evo!
I have an app that does it separately, but it is not a slick as having it built into the UI like that.

Based on my check just now, it's not swipe to change brightness, it's "move to whatever level of brightness you want as though the bar is a slider."

I confirmed this by slowly moving my thumb across the gray pulldown bar while having the brightness box open.

    Thanks for the tip!

Is there any way to disable this feature? I don't want to accidentally make it brighter and not realize it.

Thanks for the tip. I noticed however that it wont work if you have selected auto for brightness.

Sorry, just noticed that someone else posted this.

Thanks, that makes it much easier to dial in the right brightness.

I think it is funny when people do this. As if we are in a voice talking... Oops, I just realized I said talking rather than conversation. Eh... You get the idea.

I believe that is in the TW3.0 version, the Epic I can recall has TW2.5 so that feature is not available.

He's referring to Touch Wiz 3.0, and the Epic currently has Touch Wiz 2.5.
