I use swype now too. It took a little getting used to, but it definitely grows on you. Is it me, or are the keys on the swype screen a little bigger than the standard eris keyboard? I prefer the swype keyboard. Glad I switched.

So I have Android 2.1 installed on my Eris and when I download from the link above I get this error message:

For security, your phone is set to block installation of applications not sourced in Android Market.

    Any suggestions?

    EDIT:

    Nevermind... Figured it out.

you have to go into settings>languages and keyboard>put a check in the swype box. then long press in the text field and change your input method to swype

It looks like EVERY 1.16 version of Swype has expired.

Until a new version is released (even for purchase), we need to find a way around this.

Can anyone tear this program up?

This is lame. Swype doesn't have an official solution for us. Does anyone have the Beta .apk around?

That is really crazy... I have v 1.16.12.5230.t and thankfully it's still working. Are these timebomed or is it just the links that are expired?

download a free app called system panel. open ->menu->installer->click on swype on the program list->archive

mount your sd card to the computer and is should be in a folder called apparchive

EDIT!!! Make sure you delete the other version of Swype off your phone before you re-load this one.

Never done this before, but always wanted to try QR code sharing... link below if you don't want to scan.

    Swype-Lite.1.16.12.5228.219.apk

    Hope that works!
