No official swype yet. The best apk I've found to work on the Evo 4g is the beta from Droid (5612). However, everytime you flip the phone from vertical to horizontal and vice-versa, swype pops up an annoying message that "Swype is not made for your screen size" or something. But if you can withstand those messages, it works 100%.

However with the Evo 4G being so large, I've actually found it easier to use HTC's keyboard. Big screen size means swyping across a much larger area, which makes swyping slower. Also HTC's keyboard just rocks... I prefer it to Swype even after using Swype exclusively on my Droid for a month.

I really hope we get swype, or at least make it available for us to buy. I hate B2B only strategies. :)

Swype for EVO would be nice. I understand what pingpongboss is saying about swiping a larger screen.. it's the same thing I've been saying about Apple's Magic Trackpad... it takes longer to swipe than it would for me to just hit a couple keyboard/mouse keys.

It would come in handy on the portrait layout I think.

The file I found is newer version of swype and it works pretty good with the large screen with no messages. I would suggest looking around the net for it. There is very good hope for official version of swype soon.

i still keep thinking swype and swype like keyboards are all well and good, but no matter how long I use it, I still swear by smart keyboard pro. I feel like i spend more time making sure i got the word right and correcting it than i save by just typing normally. I am however getting super excited for Blindtype. If it works the way its marketed, I have no doubt that it will be the last keyboard I use for a very long time
