Help Swype Slow in Gmail on Moto X

Hi,

I have latest Swype and latest Android on Moto X. My Swype gets maddeningly slow when I use it in the Gmail app specifically.

Any recommendations how to fix it? As far as I can tell the problem is only with Gmail and it only starts happening after I already typed a few lines of text
