What's up everybody. So, I'm fairly new to Android (EVO is my first Android phone) and still getting used to the nuances of it, although I really do love Android compared to WinMO.

That said, I was wondering (for anybody that has a Samsung Moment and is familiar with Samsung's applications/programs), does Samsung have an alternate SYNC operation (other than the directy Sync from Google's cloud system)?

The reason I ask is, I always like to make a 2nd back-up for contacts. With the EVO, it has HTC Sync, which works perfect for backing up my Calendar and Contacts, but I'm trying to find information on Samsung and if it has any equivalent to that right out of the box.

Thanks in advance for anybody that may know.

  2. login to gmail and export your contacts. there's a couple different formats they allow you like csv or outlook.

Yeah, I've done that before, but sometimes the csv file doesn't transfer over the contacts properly and the information gets jumbled.

I was just hoping that Samsung had some sort of Sync software (like HTC Sync), so I could do a quick connect without having to create a csv file.

    Thanks for chiming in.

First link is the site that talks about Samsung Kies, second link takes you directly to the page you can download it from. Per the article in the first link, the software isn't advertised in the US. It appears to work for the other Galaxy S phones, don't know if it'll work or not for Epic.

We have heard that Kies does not work on Epic yet and will cause issues so please be careful.
