Sync for email keeps turning off

My sync keeps turning itself off for my email. I have to keep going in an turning it on.... kinda a pain..... how to keep it on?

I had the same problem today and was pulling my hair out because my apps kept telling me that the main sync was turned off so I could only sync manually. I finally figured out to go to the notifications panel and turn sync on there. Everything is fine now.
Of course, you may have an entirely different problem but hopefully it is just as simple as mine was. Dopey me had inadvertently clicked my sync off.
