    hi all,

I have a work phone and a personal phone both running 2.3 and using the same Google account but I can not find a way to sync apps between them. Shouldn't it show the apps for my account in the market? All the apps I use are free but I don't think I should have to find and redownload them on the other device. I've searched around but cannot find a clear answer.

    Thanks,
    Al

Open Android market on your phone and go to My Apps. Note that if your phone was company provided, some companies put restrictions into their phones, like disabling market downloads.

Thanks for the quick reply. I see My Apps but it only shows the ones from each phone. It doesn't show them on the other devices.

Don't know if this helps, But if you click on "My Library" at the top of the page, Then Click on an app it will open up a pop up window and there will be an option to "Send to another device". Sucks, but you'd have to open up each app and do that for all of them.

If you scroll down to the bottom and click on "My Market Account" then click the "Settings" Tab it will show all the devices associated with your account. You can even rename them, like "Work", "Personal", or whatever you want.

ASC, where exactly can I do this? I don't follow you. Does Google not have this documented anywhere?

Sorry, I should have been more clear. In order to do what I said you need to open up the Android Market on a computer Web Browser, not the app on your phone, and log in with the same gmail account you have your phone set up with.

Thanks for clarifying. So I'm logged into the Market in my PC browser and renamed my phones but how can I sync apps amongst them? Should be a straightforward thing to do.

This is how you can get the same apps on both of your phones. Unfortunately app data is stored on the Individual device. They wont automatically sync information between the two devices. Maybe someday in the future that will happen when data is stored in the cloud.
