My firmware for my Tmo is T-MOB010
1. Is this the latest?
2. Can you use other firmware?
actually that is your CID,or carrier identification. you can find the rest of your fomrware by entering
fastboot getvar all in a cmd window.
mine is as follows:

this is the most current fimrware. im tryng pretty hard not to run other RUUs until a t mobile ruu is released,so ive not used any other firmware on this phone.
however,on my international m7,i have run the european firmware, the dev edition firmware, some asian firmware, and the att firmware.
so i guess the answer to your question 2,is yes you can change firmware. radio, hboot, etc can all be chanded by installing a matching cid,or supercid, and flashing another ruu.
cid is easily changed with a ship hboot:
fastboot oem writecid xxxxxxxx (
xxxxxxxx of course being cid, like T-MOB010 or 11111111)
mid is not as easily changed, but is possible. you need to install an eng hboot, wich is a lil risky, then:
fastboot oem writemid xxxxxxxxx (where
xxxxxxxxx is the modle id,such as PN0713000)
i would pretty strongly recomend not to run any other RUUs until an official t mobile ruu is released. or at least attempting to manually back up all important partitions(radio, hboot, boot, system, recovery, etc)
hope that helps
