So, I'm looking into getting the One when it comes out on Verizon. The only thing I've found so far that I don't like about the phone is that it comes standard with a full keyboard for messaging, I hate this. Is there a way to change it to a keypad similar to what was on old flip phones and such?

    moved to App section.

I have slightly modified your subject line.

What you are looking for is the old "predictive" or T9 style keyboard that had "abc" "def" etc. on the number keypad yes?

I am certain there are apps out there for this, hence the move to the app section. hopefully you can get some info here. you may also want to search this section as there may be similar discussions...

example: Black Bolts Keyboard T9 + Pro found on google store. I just typed "t9 texting". there are also other options under that search string in the store...

I was more looking for a setting on the phone that might change it to the keypad, but if there's an app that works too.

On a Samsung, it's in the keyboard settings. Check it out on the One.

That's why I had originally posted in the One forum, to see if owners knew a specific way of doing it on the phone in particular, it's not out on my carrier yet so I of course can't check.
