So a couple days ago my daughters Samsung tab tablet has had problems with the battery %. If I charge it to 100% it drops to 90 then 70 and so on to 1% then holds there in a matter of about 5 min. After that it maintains the 1% for 5 to 7 hours. I have searched alot on this, done bump charge, factory reset and recalibrate the battery. Normaly it wouldent be a issue sense it's full life is there but it going below 5% causes the tablet to go into a battery saver mode and cuts cpu usage and screen brightness and no way to adjust it back when it drops that low any help would be appreciated!

Could likely be a hardware error, with the battery chip reporting wrong voltage. How old is the tablet/battety? Might be time for a battery replacement.

Also it started happening when I had to open the case because the power button and volume controls stoped working to find the power controls came unplugged from the circuit board. Maybe I hit something I shouldn't have.

If you didn't wreck your tablet from tinkering with it, Check your device and see if there was an update available for it. I encountered an issue like that with my Samsung Galaxy 10 and later found out that I had missed an update for it. After I installed the update, all went back to normal. But if your device is a few year old it may be time for a new battery depending on the amount of usage was made with the device.
