I was recently in Colombia and my wife's uncle had a Galaxy Note 8 (GT-N5100) which he could make phone calls and text just like a normal phone! I almost bought one but after doing research the bands it runs on will not get T-Mobile 4G LTE because it doesnt run on 1700mhz it looks like it would work on 3G though. Are there any tablets that anyone is aware of that have built in phone/text capabilities and run on 1700mhz so I could plug in my sim and get LTE? I have scoured the net but it seems the only tablets I can find with such do not support 1700mhz and the ones that do, do not have built in phone capabilities.

    Sorry for the TL:DR

Asus Google Nexus 7 (2013) has 3G and 4G for data on 1700Mhz, with a 7 inch display.

    Here is the forum:

EDIT: the Nexus 7 doesn't have native calling capabilities, but you can use apps to make calls.

I believe the N7 only has cellular connectivity for data, not voice (unless using VoIP, of course).

Though not technically a tablet, the Galaxy Mega has a 6.3 inch screen which is still huge/tablet like. MetroPCS sells a version of it and it's completely compatible with T-Mobile's Network.

I have saving money now so I can get me a Note 4 which will bridge the gap between tablet n phone.

There is also the Sony Xperia Z Ultra, which is a 6.4" phone (phablet), and looks to have all the necessary frequencies. They are even selling it as a tablet in some countries.
