Yeah, if you have the money definitely go for the Nexus 7. Now it's going for a really low price for Black Friday and you should get a good deal at most online stores.

I recently stumbled upon an article where cheap tablets for students were reviewed: http://www.mawista.com/blog/en/top-cheapest-tablets-for-students/

The Nexus 7 of course it's the best one on the market right now, but if you don't have the money take a look at those cheaper brand tablets. They can have really good hardware but you won't get much update support.

I'd recommend that you take a look at:
    - Ainol Novo 7 Mars - 7 inch HD Display Android 4.0 Tablet Cortex A9
    - Onda V701 Dual Core - 7 inch Dual Core Amlogic Android Tablet Webcam
    - Sanei N77 Elite - 7 inch Android 4.0 Tablet Cortex A8 Webcam F0.3 WiFi
    - Hyundai A7 - 7 inch Android 4.0 Tablet Cortex A8 2160P Mali400 HDMI

These are pretty much around the price you mentioned. But if I were you, I'd wait a bit and get the Nexus 7.

I was going for the nexus until I put them side by side with the galaxy tab 2, specs wise the nexus wins but when you actually see it to me the galaxy wins. screen resolution even though specs the nexus 7 is better but the galaxy is brighter and colors are more vibrant not sure if this was because the galaxy is made by samsung which produces the best led tv, the 2nd part that disgust me on the nexus is the speaker the audio clarity and loudness does not even come close. these 2 are the deal breaker for me. I would suggest to compare them in the store side by side.

    I hope this helps
