* Taking screenshots on Huawei MyTouch Q slide

Hi, I just got this phone, T-Mobile Mytouch Q U8730 by Huawei. It has a slider keyboard.
If anyone has this phone and knows how to do a screen shot, please let me know. I tried the typical way, push the button on top and the home button at the same time and nothing happens.
NOTE that I had this type of phone before, but it was by LG (mytouch Q slider) and I was able to do screen shots this way easily.

I dont have the manual. Tmobile chat tech said its not possible. But maybe she didnt check all options.

If there is no way to do screen captures/shots, please let me know of a few android apps that are simple to use, free, and work well to do this.

From what I understand you can't take screenshots without an app if you're not rooted. So I would suggest that you think of getting an app such as
