Just updated the Tango app and the voice issues with the app have been fixed. Just made a call to a iphone friend that was flawless. Just thought i would let everyone know you can now make video calls through Tango.

Just tried it for the first time and got nothing but screeching on both ends. Video seemed to work but noise was like a robot in agony.

Just tried it between my phone and my wife's ipad2. Seemed to work fine.

Is Tango the only face time app that will work both with the CHARGE and the iPhone 4? I have the Charge and my daughter has an iPhone. We just got our phones this week and were assuming we would be able to do this. I thought Skype was the way to go until I read here that Skype doesn't work with our phone.

I think Fring works with the Charge. I use it on my Thunderbolt to talk to my wife through her iPhone. It will also let you do a group call with a total of 4 people. Tested at the office with 3 other people, we just laughed at each other having 4 people on a video chat.

I tried Fring, and although it connects and shows video -- we could not hear each other hardly at all, audio was low... very low. I tried turning up speaking volume, etc. with no change (it was all the way up).

So, we installed Tango... the audio was louder but it was almost nothing but screeching bird type sounds. Tried 3 phone calls back and forth, they all did it.

Tried Qik (?) the other day... didn't support the front facing camera so I uninstalled it.

So far, no good working face-time style programs that I have found to work with the Charge.

    Hi Bozz5384,

May I ask what type of device your friend was using?

I am having trouble with the screaming birds thing also. Is there going to be an update to fix this? The friend i was tango-ing was using a Droid X.

    Hey guys,

Thanks for this information. I was able to test this on our Droid Charge and it looks like there is an audio bug going on.

We have found that lowering the volume 1-3 'clicks' can help with the screeching. Can you guys confirm this?

If I can get my wife to re-install it then I will too so we can try and post up. May take a couple days.

I tried lowering the volume down 1-3 clicks and it didn't work. I tried it all the way down to about 1/4 volume on both phones. still getting the pulsing squealing.

My hubby and I have the same issue which is really not an improvement at all over no sound. We are calling between two Charges. I'm very disappointed that this fix isn't really that great.

I know the answer before asking but thought I would anyway! When you are testing Tango you are not sitting beside each other or in the same room right? If so, you are probably experiencing feedback issues. I have used Tango before and after the latest update (last time this AM), with my DC and son's Iphone 4. We only had an issue with screeching the first time we tried it (sitting next to each other). Just thought I'd ask :)

No. we are not in the same room. That isn't the problem here.

Ditto. We tried it on opposite sides of our condo building and with one of us down the street. Same thing each time.

Well I figured you'd know better but I thought I would mention it. Is this only a dc to dc thing? Sorry, I'm sure you've mentioned this before. I can't imagine why that would make a difference! I'm out of ideas (that didn't take long). Hopefully you get this resolved soon. It's a pretty cool way to communicate and one of the reasons I bought this phone. good luck

I was wondering if anyone got it to work on the Charge. Ther app is not listed in the market place. I tried searching online and cannot find one complatable with the Charge.
