Help Task Killers

Hi all.

I have a question about task killers.

I recently updated my Incredible S to 2.3.5, and I've noticed that Android have introduced there own Task Manager/App killer.
Now, I've always thought that Android phones didn't need task killers because they run on the Linux system which stores apps in the memory when not in use, so when you start them up they boot quicker and use less memory, thus saving battery. I've heard people quoting things like 'If Android wanted you to use a task killer, they would have put one on the phone as stock'. Well, now it's on there as an uninstallable app. Does this mean that task killers are now good to use, rather than bad?

If anyone is in the know with this, or has any ideas, i'd like to hear from you.

Thanks very much!
