Task manager and handcent??

Wondering if i can turn off the stock text messaging app..I wanted to use handcent instead of the regular one but i dont want to get notifications from both,just the handcent one so is there a way to turn it off and still get messages from the other one..

Also wondering if there is a task killer that you can just tap once to end all..This used to the way the free avanced task manager was but now it had an update and when you press it,it actually takes you into the app and then you have to end everything manually.I just want to be able to press the icon once and have it end everything..Is there one like this in the market?

Check out the sticky at the top of the forum for some info about task managers. As far as the dual notifications for texts go, open the stock messaging app Menu>Settings>un-check 'recieved notification'. Unfortunately I don't think you can completely turn off the stock messaging app, but this will keep it out of sight.
