Hi, new guy here... I can't seem to find anyone else with this problem. Galaxy S4, Lollipop, Android 5.0.1. When I long-press home and tap Task Manager (same happens if I tap the Active Apps widget), the active apps screen pops up for a fraction of a second, then is quickly replaced by the Application manager (which is much more wonky to use for quick app-kill purposes... the "running" tab in app manager is not as easy to use quickly). If I hit the back button, it tries to take me back to the active apps screen but then immediately the same thing happens. Originally I just thought some update had screwed up the task manager/active apps screen and that Android was moving on from it. This has been going on for quite some time... many months. Today I was goofing around with my wife's phone, which is the same hardware and software... and noticed that the active apps screen actually still works as mine used to. Now I know it can be fixed... so what gives? Thanks in advance.
