Tasker Question - Autoplaying music

Have just installed Tasker on my HTC one and have defined my first task..
As soon as headphones are plugged in it opens the stock HTC Music APP but doesn't start playing the next song.
Is there something that I'm doing wrong or.. is are there alternative Android music players out there that has a setting to facilitate this.

You could also setup an "input tap" to mimic the push of the play button.

Under the Task + Script>Run shell> For Command enter "input tap X Y" and check the Root box.

X and Y are coordinate point where you would push the "Play" button.
Go into Developer Options and check the box "Show Pointer Location"
Launch the music player and push and hold the play button, write down the X and Y coordinates.

Hate to necro-bump, but did you ever get this working? If not, I was going to suggest trying the Media -> Media Control -> Cmd: Play option. That's what I use in my profile to automatically start playing music when I get in my car.

Yes I did get it to work, I used 'simulate media button' CMD 'toggle pause'
So when I plug in my earphones the music resumes from where it last stopped and when I remove them it stops.

Know that you've actually achieved your goal, but thought I'd share how I did this...

I downloaded Media Utilities, a Tasker plugin, and set the task up as follows:

Profile: Auto-Play Music
Context: Headset Plugged (any)
Tasks: Media Volume (level 15)
Load App (Play Music)
Media Utilities (as plugin)=>configuration=>Play/Pause
