I am trying to get Tasker to read text messages when my phone is connected to my car bluetooth device. Reasonable success so far, but when I use 'say %SMSRN' I get the phone number of the sender, not the name which is in my contacts.

I have only tried sending texts from one phone so far.

Is this a known problem? If so, is there a way round it?

    From Tasker Manual:

Is it possible the number displayed from the text is slightly different (or formatted differently) than the one in your contacts? I'm not sure how exact this needs to be.

I'd also suggest you peruse the Tasker user group for answers: site:groups.google.com %SMSRN - Google Search
