Tasker Variables not binding on my Epic under Gingerbread

I just downloaded Tasker.. it's brilliant.

But I can't get some variables to bind and resolve when writing to a file on my Epic under Gingerbread


I've tried %LAPP , %LOC and %LOCN ... are there additional steps so these resolve. Rows are written, but just get the variable name.

%DATE and %TIME are working.
