TB is Stuck on 1x since 11pm tonight in NYC

Im in los Angeles and just 4G back. I called Verizon and customer service said there is nothing wrong with the networks. So i said then whats wrong with my phone. they sent me to tech suppot where I had to wait 25 mins. Tech support said that the data network is down. I followed by saying "then why does my Verizon black berry work on 3g". They said all they could do is write a ticket reporting an outage in my area. When I Hung up, my 4G was back

Yea woke up to 4G here on NYC...This is getting pretty rediculous with VZW. I'm sorry to say this,,,but Verizon's 4G is just not ready for prime time. And things like this are going to keep happening as long as more and more people switch to 4G phones and take up space on the network....Get your act together Verizon.

I had the same dilemma here in Saint Louis since activation on the 10th. Many calls to Tech and Customer Support had me hearing "Well, you're definitely in an area that gets 4G, and there are no service alerts" so many times, my head was spinning. Did the battery-out while phone was on trick a few times, went to a store and did a software update. Finally, a call to a 4G specialist in Tech had a new SIM card shipped out. It actually DEACTIVATED my 1x service altogether! As opposed to being angry, I called from a different phone, gave them the new SIM Card number and powered it back on. I was skeptical the SIM card was the resolution and I had directions to a corporate store in another window in case I had to swap out my phone. Happy to say, I'm surfing 4G LTE right now! There is hope, fellow Thunderbolt bretheren. Hope this can skip a few steps, or at least lighten up your tunnel a bit.

My only unresolved question at this time is why my PS3 or laptop won't recognize my TB when connected by USB. I know this may be the wrong thread, but any direction? Anyone?

I've had that happen intermittently - USUALLY - throwing it into airplane mode - and taking it out does the trick. Please keep us updated.

Edit : Spoke too soon - been stuck in 1X most of the morning (outside Philly). Is VZW aware of the sim card issue/fix??
