Tips Tethering an iPad without Root

    I searched around but couldn't find a recent answer to this. Is there still no way to tether the EVO to an iPad without rooting? I don't have an iPad, yet, but am considering getting one and don't want to the pay the extra money to have 3G built in (especially AT&T 3G). I'm not sure I want to bother with rooting my phone (other than this, I've not really come across any reason [personally] to want to root), but if that's the only way I might consider it.

    My wife tethers her iPad to my rooted Evo so our son an stream Netflix on road trips. It's great!

    But yes, to do this you need:
    1) A rooted Evo
    2) An iPad
    3) A Kid (optional)

    Only two ways to tether the iPad...
    1) purchase the WiFi Hotspot from Sprint or
    2) root and download WiFi Tether.

    The iPad does not support Bluetooth tether and there is no USB port to connect to so only WiFi tether works.

    Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll look into rooting if I decide to buy an iPad.
