Help Tethering or mobile ap?

I have the Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant with Froyo and T-mobile will allow me to do both a mobile ap or tethering. I was just wondering out of experience what is faster? The mobile AP? or tethering?

Data Speed wise, I don't really notice much difference. But from my experience MobileAP is more convenient. No cables take out, just turn on the AP and bridge the computer vs getting the USB cable out.

So you could say MobileAp is faster to get connected and therefore faster than tethering.
